AS Kigali head Coach Andre Casa Mbungo says his team will be hoping to reach the group stages of this year’s Confederations Cup.

The Rwandan Peace Cup winners will take on Djiboutian side ASAS Djibouti next month for a place in the second round.

Mbungo admitted that he plans to bring in new players such that the team can have enough depth to compete successfully at the continental level.

"Our target is to reach the group stages of the Confederations Cup next year. I already have good players but we need to bring in a few new names to help us compete favorably in all competitions we engage in next season,” Mbungo said.

Casa Mbungo is one of the most decorated coaches in the country after winning the Peace Cup three times.
