Today
Group A Algeria Vs Benin 12: 30 AM Madagascar Vs Senegal 5:30 PM
Group B Rwanda Vs Angola 3:00 PM Guinea Vs Mali 8:00 PM
As the quarter-finals draw if this year's U-18 FIBA Africa Championship draw closer, here's a look at the last Group phase games, later today, in Mahamas.
Algeria (0-2) v Benin (0-2)
Battle will be raging in Group A as the tickets for the Quarter-Finals are up for grabs.
But it's the final standings of this group that will matter, as the team will cross with their opponents from Group B.
As Algeria and Benin enter the court for the first game of the day, they will battle to avoid the last place, which will see them cross the path of either Egypt or Mali in the Quarter Finals.
Angola (1-2) v Rwanda (0-3)
Angola has been a big surprise in Mahamas.
They have shown that they can win against title contenders Mali in a highly contested game, and lose to Guinea the day after.
And as Aginaldo Neto said, "Angola is aiming for the title." But they must once again correct their mistakes if they want to make it.
Similarly, Rwanda will have to look past their errors if they want to make it in the Top 4 of Group B.
Madagascar (2-0) v Senegal (2-0)
This is Group A’s finale, the clash between two unbeaten teams, that will determine who will top Group A.
It will also be a real test for Madagascar as they meet with an opponent who is gunning for the title.
They have successfully fended off Algeria, a team that is far more experienced than Madagascar. Senegal, on their part, will look to continue their winning ways as they make their way to the Semi-Finals.
Guinea (2-1) vs Mali (2-1)
This is the kind of team that Mali should watch out for. Guinea, with an 8-man roster, gave Egypt quite a headache. Now that they have their full roster, we're waiting to see what it will be like for Guinea.
The last two players landed in Madagascar the day before and they proved to be very important parts of the Guinean roster.
And Mali will have to be very careful as they will meet an opponent who gave them a hard time the last time they met in Cairo, Egypt, two years ago.
But after their cold shower by Angola, we can guess that Mali will play it safe as they will fight for the top spot of Group B.
After this, one team from Group B will be eliminated and the remaining contenders will move to the knock-out phase and the quarter-finals.
The Quarter-finals are scheduled for Friday August 12, followed by semi-finals on August 13.
The final and classification games are scheduled for August 14.
