Young Tigers beat KCC by four runs
Eric Dusingizimana was the hero for Young Tigers as they edged out Kigali Cricket Club in Sunday’s low-scoring contest at Kicukiro.
The national team star scored valuable runs (33) and picked two crucial wickets with his slow medium bowling to guide the student studded side to their second RCA Twenty20 Cup victory.
Young Tigers posted a mediocre score of 80 runs for the loss of eight wickets off their allotted twenty overs but Dusabemungu, playing his first game of the competition made sure that the score was just enough after ripping through KCC’s top order on his way to impressive bowling figures of 4-26 off his four overs.
Rizwan Pandor (18) was the only KCC player to prosper with the bat. Young Tigers wrapped up the game when Jean Claude Siboniyo bowled Gopal Reedy (06) with four balls to spare.
After four games, Dusingizimana who scored his 33 at a run a ball tops the individual scoring charts with 134 runs.
In the team standings, Challengers are now joint table leaders with RCA select after earning default points from Right Guards.
Young Tigers are third on nine points, KCC are in fourth place with four points while Indorwa and Right Guards are at the bottom with zero points.
