Cedric KgBoy, a Canada-based Rwandan musician, will perform alongside renowned artistes like Nigerian duo P-Square and Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz at the Afrobeats Music Festival this month.
KgBoy, who will be one of the opening acts, started his music journey in 2018. Over the years, he has released various popular songs in the Diaspora and Rwanda such as ‘Fake Love’, ‘I Surrender’ and ‘Si Loko’.
The first-ever and biggest afro-beat event is taking place August 18-19, and is packed with highlights such as live performances, awards in different categories, seminars, et cetera.
Afrobeats Music Festival is an international carnival that showcases different African cultures, cuisines and music in the Diaspora, and brings together Africa’s top artistes, up-and-comers and other diverse talents.
The festival was launched to popularise the genre in Canada and other North American countries. Afro-beat continues to experience unprecedented growth and many of its fans are considered global superstars in their own right.
As the genre continues to dominate music spaces all over the world, AMF looks to elevate and enrich the platform of African music. This year’s edition will be graced by famous African artists such as Focalist, Töme, Kranium, Primo Green and Jeda.
