Rwandan volleyball club side Gisagara will participate in the men’s category of the 2022 Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) international tournament slated for August 5-7.
The competition which is held for clubs to exhibit their expertise at a bigger platform is scheduled to take place at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala.
Teams such as Kagera Region from Tanzania, Lion Sports from South Sudan, and Police Volleyball club from Uganda are among the thirty teams who will participate in the competition.
The Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club tournament was established in 2000 but has not been held for the past three years due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The last tournament saw Uganda's Nkumba University winning the ladies category whereas the men's event was won by Homegrown Volleyball Club from Kenya.
Gisagara's last appearance in the tournament was in 2018 and they will be hoping to go all out and clinch the trophy this time.
