Rwandan rapper Rass King Loyalty recently released an EP dubbed ‘Diploma Yapfuye Ubusa’, comprising Vu vuseven songs which are all of silati music genre.

Born Joel Ndacyayisenga, the singer is a fast rising hip hop artiste who introduced the Silati genre in Rwanda. He joined the music scene professionally in 2017 after completing high school working with Green Ferry Music with different rappers like Bushali and B Threy among others. Later on, he joined Kina Beat from Coffee Sound Music.

The EP was produced by Umuhungu Pro in Kosovo record label, mastered by Kina beat and Bass Killer. It comprises 7 songs namely ‘Intiti’, ‘Nshyiraho’, ‘Hit’, ‘Saa hizi’, ‘Boro’ ft Fifi Raya and Zad, ‘3some’ ft Madaggy and Rabia and ‘Umwaka Mushya’ ft Rasfer Bone.

Talking to The New Times Ndacyayisenga said that he has been busy putting much effort on the EP and he has finally decided to give it to his fans. The EP which talks about true events for many people in this generation so far has received good feedback from fans.

"This EP represents who I am in the music industry in Rwanda and my passion for the Silati genre. Most of the feedback I got from different people about my uniqueness in composition, melody and my vibe in the videos. I was encouraged by how other music figures in Rwanda told me that the EP is good and that empowered me to work harder,” he recalled.

He declared that anyone who listened or watched at least two songs on the EP was able to recognise my uniqueness and talent.

When making collabos with two upcoming female artistes he says, his target was to show Rwandans young hip hop talents that they didn’t know about and it worked out well because Fifi Raya is now under a management team.

‘’Slatt’’ was popularised in Atlanta, Georgia by rapper Young Thug in 2013 and is said to mean ‘slime love all the time.’ The phrase has since been used across the rap scene.
