Rwanda will compete in the 2022 Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) international tournament slated for next month.
The competition which is held for amateurs in the sport to exhibit their talent at a bigger stage is scheduled to take place in the Ugandan capital of Kampala from 5th to 7th August, 2022.
As many as thirty teams from East and Central Africa will participate in the event and so far, teams from Rwanda, are among those that have confirmed their participation.
"To date, ten teams from Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi and Tanzania have confirmed their participation. More are still expected to join." Ugandan volleyball president Sadiq Nasiwu stated.
The sporting event which was established 22 years ago has not been held for the past three years due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The last edition saw Uganda's Nkumba University winning the ladies category whereas the men's event was won by Homegrown Volleyball Club from Kenya.
