UGANDAN MUSIC DUO Kataleya and Kandle have been in Rwanda for a media tour to promote their brand new song, ‘Nyash,’ with Rwandan fast rising artiste, Afrique.

Kandle told The New Times that since they are all young artistes who wanted to penetrate through different borders and are in the same age range, it made it easier to collaborate and their management did the job to link them and they penned the lyrics.

"The song ‘Nyash’ was just a vibe in the studio which we didn’t have the lyrics prepared for prior to that. When the producer was doing some beat, and our management talked to Afrique management, they both felt interested in doing a project together,” Kataleya told The New Times.

The singing duo, real names, Hadijah Namakula (Kateleya) and Rebecca Robins Nabatusa (Kandle), started their music career in February 2021 and so far have eight songs, including their recent collabo, ‘Nyash’ featuring Afrique.

The girls consider Rwandan artistes to be very talented and they cited some names like; Bruce Melodie, Meddy, The Ben, Juno Kizigenza, and Bwiza, just to mention a few.

In their journey in Rwanda, the two have been supported by Rwandan music promoter, Alex Muyoboke.

Nasim produced the audio and Faysal headed the video production team of ‘Nyash’.
