Rwanda U18 beat Tunisia 65-52 in a classification playoff game on Saturday, September 14, to finish seventh at the U18 Africa Basketball Championship in Pretoria, South Africa.

Rwanda’s Vanessa Camara scored a game high 19 points while Brigitte Nibishaka and Yvonne Muhawenimana added 13 and 12 points respectively.

Tunisia’s Nour Horchani was the game’s second highest scorer with 17 points.

"I am very grateful to the players for the way they behaved since the start of the competition. We did everything possible, I would like to call on everyone concerned to monitor these children and prepare them for the upcoming competitions," said head coach Jacques Bahige

Meanwhile, Rwanda's U18 boys' basketball team finished 8th in the championship boy’s category after losing Nigeria 61-78 on Saturday. The men's tournament attracted 12 countries.
