Rwanda Energy Group Basketball head coach, Henry Mwinuka has vowed that his team will fight to stay on top of the table and go on to win the league title.

Mwinuka’s team last Friday, overcame APR 78-62 in a grueling encounter, which earned them a place at the summit of the league, with 33 points.

"Our prime target is to make sure we stay on top of the table, it will not be an easy task especially in the second round, but we will keep working hard to improve our game plan and try to do better in every game,” Mwinuka said.

"We have a good chance of winning the league but we are focusing on winning our own games. That is why we will fight until the end,” he added

"This year we want to retain the league title and that's why we have to win all the other league games.” He noted

So far, REG has won the national championship twice, in 2017 and 2021.

Action will continue on Wednesday when APR take on Espoir at Club Rafiki while Patriots will face Tigers at the same venue.
