Rwanda to face Togo in Davis Cup final

Rwanda will face Togo in the final of the 2022 Davis Cup by Rakuten Africa Group IV tournament which concludes Saturday at the Ecology Tennis Club/IPRC-Kigali after both teams finished top of their respective group stages on Friday.

The hosts cruised to the final after beating Sudan 3-0 on Friday, through Ernest Habiyambere’s victory over Sudan’s Mandour Noor 2-0 (6-2 6-3) in the first singles before Bertin Karenzi won the second singles match after beating Khalid Derar 2-0 (6-24, 7-6) after over 2h40mins in the court.

Meanwhile, the Togolese booked a ticket to the final after beating DR Congo 2-1 to finish at the summit of Group B.

The winner in Saturday’s final will be promoted to the Group C of the ITF rankings.
