Another multi million dollar Cine Star Cinema complex, which includes a Cinema hall and conference services, is set to be officially launched during the finals of the Champions League. This was revealed by business mogul, Apollo Gafaranga, on Thursday.

Situated in Nyamirambo, the complex is owned by one of Kigali’s tycoons Gafaranga, who also owns shares in Real Estate .

In an interview with The Sunday Times, the entrepreneur said that the cost of the entire project is approximately one million U.S dollars, including the building, parking and the cinema equipment he imported from Europe, China and the US.

The chairs, Air Conditioners (ACs), carpets and the refreshment facilities (Coca-Cola and popcorn machines) were imported from China, whilst the cinema sound system and projectors were bought from the US.

"We intend to employ professional and experienced employees to deliver unique and high-quality services,” says Gafaranga. The newly-renovated multifaceted complex will change the face of town.

"We shall be showing latest movies, and at the same time offering refreshments. This is to help our clients enjoy their moment while watching the movies,” explains Gafaranga.

The opening of this new hospitality facility will boost the country’s ambitious plan to double tourism receipts.

"The building and installations were done by local professionals, because I wanted to create job opportunities to Rwandans.”

The businessman who studied in the Middle East, and lived in Israeli, Egypt, Kuwait and France, is keen to develop his country by embarking on big investment projects.

Gafaranga revealed that he got the inspiration of opening up businesses in the country from Europe, though he also had his own imagination enhanced by his sense of creativity.

"We shall also introduce membership cards to whoever would wish to have one for corporate benefits,” rsays Gafaranga.

Cine Star Cinema is mainly targeting tourists in the country and VIPs, who are cinema fanatics and wish to spend their leisure time watching movies or sports events.

The cinema has two classes; the VIP class with 300 seats and the ordinary class with only 200 seats, thus qualifying it the country’s biggest cinema centre ever.
