Rwandan international Yannick Mukunzi will not feature for his club Sandvikens IF again in the ongoing 2024 Swedish Superettan season after undergoing a knee surgery.
The defensive midfielder has not played for Sandviken since July 27 when he replaced Ugandan forward Calvin Kabuye in the 82nd minute in a 2-1 defeat to Utsiktens BK.

He sustained the knee injury during a training session on August 30 and has been out of action ever since.
The talented holding midfielder has now had his surgery and is expected to be out for three months.
Mukunzi has a long history with injuries. In 2022, he almost missed a whole season after another knee injury.
The former Rayon Sports and APR enforcer has played 9 league games for newly promoted Swedish second tier side Sandviken IF this season.
The 2024 Swedish Superettan League season ends on November 9 which means Mukunzi will not play again until next year.
