APR skipper Claude Niyomugabo has said that his team is ready to defeat Egyptian giants Pyramids FC on Saturday, September 14 in the CAF Champions League qualifiers at the Amahoro Stadium.

Though the in-form left-back admitted that north African clubs have been a nightmare for APR over the past couple of years, he insisted that the team is now ready to rewrite the script with a win on Saturday.

"Right now football has changed. There is nothing that people do not know. The north African teams had some tricks both on and off the field, but we learned everything and we are ready to face them," he said.

APR reached the second round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League second round qualifiers by defeating Tanzanian powerhouse Azam FC 2-1 on aggregate, while Pyramids FC walloped Zanzibar’s JKU 9-1 on aggregate.

The Rwandan champions and Pyramids FC met at this same stage in the competition during the 2023/24 season where the Egyptians won 6-1 on aggregate.
