AS Kigali FC head coach André Casa Mbungo says referees who will officiate the Peace cup final between his side and APR FC to be professional during the match.
The Peace Cup final will be played on Tuesday, June 28th at Kigali Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
Casa Mbungo, who is a former Police FC coach, told local media there have been issues of bad refereeing decisions in the league this season and asked officials to be diligent in the match which they need to win so that the team can represent the country in the CAF confederation cup next season.
"I ask the referees to be professional and work with integrity, if they end the season with the same mistakes it will be costly to rebuild their trust among Rwandan football fans," the 53-year-old said
Mbungo also called on some of the players in his team whose contracts have ended and are in talks with other clubs to be professional and give their all in the must win tie for the City of Kigali sponsored side.
In the last two Peace cup finals that Mbungo has been involved in with Police FC and AS Kigali, he ended up winning both times.
AS Kigali won the Peace Cup three times in 2005, 2013 and 2019 while the last time APR won the Peace Cup was in 2017, however the army side has won the title 13 times in 1994, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2017.
