Today is the World Telecommunications Day. You, our ardent readers, must be very aware of the advantages of telecommunications. You probably have called a friend to share a light moment on something you’ve read in the SundayMag.

However, before telephones came into existence, you’d have had to travel to that friend’s place or waited for them to visit so that you brought out the SundayMag copy.

So, today we are calling upon you to enjoy the power of Telecommunications. Phones have undergone various innovations.

They have cameras, recording devices for voice and video and can even be used for video conferencing. So as we celebrate the advantages of technology, let’s also apply them wisely.

It’s great to learn that the Ministry of Technology is soon introducing the Phone-for Health program. This is another break through in the telecom industry.

Hopefully it will translate into better health service delivery. As you know, a healthy population is more likely to be more productive.

So, as you enjoy reading your favourite weekend companion, the Mag, remember to appreciate that small gadget called the phone, fax, TV, etc.

Nice Sunday.
