South African hip hop prodigy Nasty C, Nigerian musician Tekno Miles and Rwandan artistes like Bruce Melodie, Kenny Sol and Bushali performances, took the BK Arena by storm at the Chop Life Kigali concert.
The highly anticipated show kicked off around 8:15pm with a performance by Rwanda’s RnB artiste Chris Eazy. Even though the artiste was given a short time to perform he gave the concertgoers a good job with a performance of his hit songs like ‘fasta’, ‘Inana’ and ‘amashu’.
At exactly 8:35, DJ Toxxyk was welcomed to the stage to get the crowd warmed up and ready for some good times.
Things took a turn when Nigerian DJ Neptune, graced the show. Dressed in ‘Ijesi’ made by House of Tayo, DJ Neptune was excited to see how the audience was living in the moment as he fired up the crowd. He expressed his feelings about coming to Rwanda for the first time and how thrilled he felt about being in Kigali. He sure did give the crowd a memorable night to always remember.
Different local artistes like Afrique, Okkama and Bushali gave the crowd a good time with their performances of some of their hit songs. Revelers in excitement, sang lyrics of these artistes' hit songs. Nigerian RnB singer Fave also got the crowd wild as she performed hit songs like ‘Baby Riddim’ and ‘Mr Man’.
Nasty C fired up the crowd with hit songs like ‘Strings and blings’, ‘Particular’, ‘Said’ and ‘SMA,’ that is currently trending on TikTok. The rapper brought so much energy on stage that turned out to reciprocate to the concertgoers who couldn’t hide their excitement and enjoyment during this talented rapper's’ performance.
Kenyan Rapper Khaligraph Jones took over the stage after Bushali’s performance and he was remarkable. The way he flowed took the crowd by storm as they cheered to him.
The rapper then paved way for Bruce Melodie after performing their collabo ‘Sawa Sawa’. With so many hit songs the singer has made over the years, it just kept getting better from one song to another as he performed some of his hit songs that the crowd sang along to, one song after another.
After Bruce finished his performance, Tekno took to the stage accompanied by dancers and Sherrie Silver, Rwandan-British choreographer. The singer gave his fans a great time as they had waited hours for his performance. He performed some of his hit songs which took the crowd by storm. When it came to ‘Buga’ his collabo with Kizz Daniel the whole crowd cheered and danced along with him to this current hit. During his performance Tekno mentioned how excited he gets every time he has to perform in Rwanda and that he wishes to get invited every year.
Organised by Empawa Africa in partnership with Visit Rwanda and Intore Ent, the concert aimed at showcasing a new type of star-studded party experience to partygoers.
The show ended at 12:00am.
