The Forum for Political Parties in Rwanda (FPPR) went to the polls on Thursday to elect their Spokesperson, who succeeds outgoing spokes person Protais Mitali.

I congratulate Minister Sheikh Musa Fazil Harerimana, (Security) the new office holder. However, I’m not comfortable with the six month tenure.

My advice is that the term be extended for the holders of that prestigious office. The six- month non-renewable tenure is nothing for political leadership.

It will be hard for one to accomplish anything within six month; although Harerimana has promised to. In fact that time is for settling. So, before one settles down, he is asked to vacate.
