The famous Gisimenti car-free zone in Kigali has been spiced up to cater for daily concerts that are going to be held in the space for the next few days.
The space, which is a welcoming spot for hundreds of city dwellers who enjoy outdoor setting and dining, will be closed for a week to host daily concerts that are expected to be attended by the delegates of the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) that kicked off in Kigali on Sunday.
The car-free zone is now spiced with different live music, stage settings, cocktail tables, dozens of beer stands, modernised barbecue stands, outdoor floor carpet and DJ stands that will allow different revellers to have different tastes of music at the car-free zone.
During the long week of CHOGM, a number of top musicians on the globe such as Tekno, Fave, Nasty C, and Khaligraph Jones are expected to perform in different corners of Kigali including the spiced up car free zone.
Imbuga City Walk free zone, located in the central business district, will also host events such as 'CHOGM Street Festival' from 20-25 June.
