Sunrise FC head coach, Innocent Seninga, has urged his players and club to plan for life in the topflight league next season.

The Nyagatare District-based side returned to Rwanda premier league after edging Sorwathe and Vision FC 4-1 in two games to secure a place in the top-tier division.

"We’re happy to be back in the topflight league, we fought very hard because we felt we didn’t belong in the second division. After sealing the spot, we should now ensure we avoid the mistakes we made last season,” stated Seninga.

Sunrise FC will now lock horns with the winner of the game between Rwamagana city vs Interforce in the grand final of the Division 2 play off.

Rwamagana City FC and Interforce FC will play first leg on June, 22 and return leg will be played on June, 25.

"I am delighted not only with the result but the overall performance of my players because in the last match we were struggling to control proceedings.” He added

The Nyagatare-based side was relegated to the second division last season, alongside Muhanga FC, after a poor run of results.

Two teams who are relegated from top flight are Etoile de l’est and Gicumbi FC.
