Rwanda’s Taekwondo athletes proved their worth at the just-concluded 2024 World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond Game held in Muju, South Korea.

Benoit Kayitare struck gold in men’s under 58kg category after beating Mongolian Purevdash Yondonjmts while Yvan Mucyo Iradukunda won silver medal after overcoming Kazakhstani Medet Zholdybaiuly to reach the finals in the same weight class.

The Rwandan team also achieved a third-place finish in duos competition.

Besides, Iradukunda had earlier won another silver medal in the International Open Virtual Taekwondo Championships which were part of the same competition.
