MORE fun activities are coming to Kigali during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in what will be a CHOGM street festival from June 20 to 25.
‘Chief Chef Afrika’, a live cooking show, will take place at Imbuga City Walk, during which the best chefs in Rwanda will showcase their culinary skills by cooking different dishes.
Mixing demonstrations by bartenders, interactive exhibits, multiple food sampling opportunities, and nutrition information will be part of the gourmet challenge.
The organiser of the cooking competition, Jimmy Ntambala, who also owns a restaurant, says that ‘Chief Chef Afrika’ will be fun to watch because the chefs will show people that there’s more to cooking, and that people can do a lot with food.
The finale of this competition will take place on June 25 and the winners will be selected based on how tasty their meals and drinks turn out.
During the street festival, there will also be other activities for revellers in the car free zone. Made in Rwanda and Made in Africa products will be sold, including accessories, with artworks on display.
Kids will have a designated corner with many activities for them to interact, learn, bond and also play. Caretakers will be at hand to watch the children as adults enjoy the festival.
From live performances to DJs and other entertainers, all will be there to entertain revellers.
