The National Paralympic Committee yesterday confirmed that the remaining matches of the third phase of both sitting volleyball and sitball national championships will be played in Kigali next weekend.

Torrential rains in the Northern Province led to the tournament being stopped mid-way, and the NPC Secretary General, Celestine Nzeyimana said the remaining matches will be played in Kigali because it is very expensive to organize the competitions upcountry.

"We have decided to have the matches in Kigali at Amahoro stadium because it is very expensive to take teams upcountry,” Nzeyimana said.

Eight clubs will take part in the two competitions (sitting volleyball and sitball) and there are: Intwari, THT, Nyanza, Musanze, Kivu, Kagoma, Rusizi and UNR.

Intwari won the second phase of the men’s sitting volley ball tourney, while UNR won the women’s sit ball.
