NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi announced that the decision to discharge him early was prompted by concerns for his safety after plainclothes security personnel reportedly attempted to access his hospital room and demanded his medical records. The doctors therefore allowed him to complete his recovery at his home in Magere, it is reported.
"Security operatives have been trying to access his room since Tuesday night when he was admitted, even demanding his medical forms, but the hospital declined. We don’t know what they intend to do,” Ssenyonyi stated.

Bobi Wine sustained injuries from a tear gas canister during a confrontation with police on September 3 while returning from the home of NUP lawyer George Musisi in Bulindo, Kira, Wakiso District.
After receiving first aid at Najeem Medical Centre in Kira-Bulindo, Bobi Wine was transferred to Nsambya Hospital for further treatment.
Earlier on Wednesday, September 4, security forces deployed around St. Francis Nsambya Hospital, restricting access to the surrounding roads, Ssenyonyi noted.
While addressing journalists, Uganda’s Police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma stressed that the deployment aimed to maintain law and order, adding that the exact cause of Kyagulanyi’s injury could only be determined after thorough investigation.

Addressing the situation on social media, Bobi Wine noted that following a minor surgery to remove foreign bodies from his leg, he chose to leave the hospital hastily for safety reasons and to protect other patients from the disruption caused by the security presence.
He expressed gratitude for the messages of support he had received and indicated that he would continue his treatment at home.
