Rwanda has dropped one place in the latest monthly Fifa rankings released on Wednesday. Despite slipping from 83rd last month to 84th position, Rwanda maintained second spot in the Cecafa region behind Uganda, which remained unmoved on 68th position.

Africa’s top 10 teams are all unmoved with Cameroon remaining the continent’s highest-ranked side at 19th in the world.

Mozambique moved into Africa’s top 20, going up six places to 80th in the world and 19th on the continent.

The Fifa rankings take account of matches played over the last two years, with more recent results given greater weight.

A few African countries took part in friendly matches in April but there were no competitive matches played. There were no changes in the top 39 places in the latest release of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.

Reigning European champions Spain remain unchallenged at the top of the table with a comfortable lead followed by Germany and the Netherlands.
