The talk in town over the week was all about Massamba Intore’s 30 40 Ubutore’ concert which attracted thousands of revelers in celebration of his 40-year musical career while Rwandan handbag brand Cesta Collective is becoming a target for Meghan Markle to invest in.

Meghan Markle invests in Rwandan handbag brand
Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, recently announced that she invested in Cesta Collective, a Rwandan handbag brand that empowers female artisans.
Known for her keen investment choices and advocacy, Markle has become Cesta Collective's first equity investor and strategic partner, said Courtney Weinblatt Fasciano, who co-founded the luxury bag company with Erin Ryder in 2018.

Cesta Collective, which specializes in basket bags that are handwoven by a collective of women in Rwanda and finished in Italy. Meghan originally discovered the brand while online shopping.
Miss Naomi to wed Michael Tesfay on December 29
Miss Rwanda 2020 Naomie Nishimwe and long-time fiancé Michael Tesfay last week announced that they will officially wed on December 29.
In February, the beauty queen and model had tentatively said that their wedding would take place in December, but she did not reveal the exact dates until she announced the development via her Instagram page on Wednesday, August 28.

This comes eight months after the two officially got engaged as they were celebrating two years dating.
Massamba Intore’s landmark 40-year musical anniversary
Celebrated musician Massamba Intore once again reminded Rwandans that he is a legend of ‘Gakondo’ music as he performed before thousands of him music supporters at BK Arena on Saturday, August 31.
It was during a concert he name ‘30 40 Ubutore,’ as a dual celebration, commemorating Rwanda's 30-year journey of renaissance while at the same time marking 40 years in music.

Ariel Wayz, Ruti Joel, Teta Diana and his daughter Deborah Ikirezi were among artistes who performed at the concert which attracted approximately 6,000 revelers.
Bien-Aimé, Bruce Melodie’s cooking something
Renowned Kenyan musician Bien-Aimé Baraza was last week in Kigali for a joint music project with Rwandan star singer Bruce Melodie.
The Grammy Award-winning songwriter, who is trending after dropping his first solo album ‘Aluta Why Are You Topless?’ thanked Bruce Melodie for accepting to work on a song together.
