Open Mic Near Me

Start your Friday evening on August 30th at Isubyo House of Art (KK 649 ST, opposite HDI) with "Open Mic Near Me," kicking off at 6 pm.

The event will feature an open mic, live painting, a pool table, gallery tours, a live barbecue, and drinks. Local up-and-coming rappers Mutha, Longjay, and Red Ink will perform.

Entry is free, making it the perfect after-work spot for fans of rap and art.

Andersonne’s Volume

Andersonne’s Volume is more than just a live music event; it’s a carefully curated experience for a growing community of music lovers, designed to cultivate artists ready to tour.

Past editions have showcased rising talents, and this seventh edition promises to do the same. Held at L’Espace (11 KG 28 Ave) from 7 p.m. till late, the evening will feature a live performance by Andersonne herself, the visionary behind the event. Entry is Rwf15,000 at the door.

Andersonne, a singer and actress with deep industry knowledge, created this platform to empower Rwandan creatives by offering them stages in culturally rich settings and invaluable opportunities through strategic partnerships. Don’t miss out this Friday, August 30.

30/40 y’Ubutore

Renowned musician Massamba Intore is set to mark a milestone with his much-anticipated anniversary concert, "30/40 y’Ubutore," at BK Arena this Saturday, August 31.

The event will not only celebrate Rwanda's 30-year journey of renewal but also honor Masamba’s 40-year musical career.

The concert promises an uplifting fusion of jazz, blues, and traditional Rwandan melodies, making it a must-attend for fans of live music.

Tickets are available at Rwf 5,000 for students, Rwf 10,000 for regular admission, Rwf 20,000 for VIP, and Rwf 35,000 for VVIP.

Improper Access

Ready for a night of club music curated exclusively by women? Head to the Improper Access show at Kigali Universe this Friday, August 30, starting at 2 p.m. and going until late.

The lineup includes DJs Senshi, Brianne, Sonia, Alida, Nigeria’s Dopecaesar, and Uganda’s Etania, promising an unforgettable night on the dance floor.

Brought to you by The Blackout, known for crafting unique party experiences, this event is set to be one for the books. Admission is Rwf10,000.

Twilight Picnic and Film Soirée

Gather your blankets, friends, and favorite snacks for a cozy evening of good vibes and cinematic treats at Sunday Park this Saturday, August 31.

The event kicks off at 2 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m.Tickets are priced at Rwf10,000 for the Silver Screen Special (early birds), Rwf12,000 for the Blockbuster Pass, Rwf15,000 for Director’s Cut seating, Rwf25,000 for Starlight Seats, or Rwf45,000 for a group of six.

Rwanda Basketball League Playoffs

The newly refurbished Petit Stade indoor facility is set to host the betPawa Basketball League playoffs, tipping off this Friday, August 30.

With a seating capacity of 1,000, the venue will see the Patriots face off against Kepler at 6 p.m., marking the first basketball game at the facility since it began its facelift in 2022 as part of the extensive renovations at Amahoro Stadium.

At 8:30 p.m., APR will face off against Rwanda Energy Group in Game 1, with Game 2 following on Sunday, September 1, featuring Kepler versus Patriots at 6 p.m.and REG against APR at 7:30 p.m.

Expect an electrifying night of basketball, with tickets priced at Rwf10,000, Rwf15,000 for VIPs, and courtside seats at Rwf25,000. The playoffs will also include entertainment from NEP DJs.

Sofar Kigali x Earthen Serenity

This Saturday, August 31, Institut Français du Rwanda is the place to be for a unique blend of music and art.

The event will feature talented musicians and visual artist Richard Mwizerwa, who will create a live masterpiece revealed under UV lights.

Starting from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., there’s a Sip and Paint session where you can join Mwizerwa in a hands-on painting workshop with a glass in hand for Rwf5,000.

Following that, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the "Earthly Serenity" exhibition will open, showcasing a series of nature-inspired abstract artworks with free entry.

The evening concludes with "A Canvas of Melodies" from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., a fusion of music and live painting in collaboration with Sofar Kigali. Entry is Rwf15,000.

Art enthusiasts should head to Institut Français du Rwanda, 25 KG 624 St, Rugando, for this one-of-a-kind experience.

Postpartum Depression Comprehensive Workshop

Expecting mothers, women, and the general public are invited to a workshop on Postpartum Depression designed to enhance understanding and offer supportive strategies. Join in this Saturday, August 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 108 KG 5 Avenue, Kacyiru.

This workshop provides a safe space for learning, sharing, and connecting with others facing similar experiences. Led by Dr. Denis Kazungu, the event has a participation fee of Rwf20,000.
