Bianca Baby, CEO and founder of Bianca Fashion Hub 250, will once again host her fashion event this year with the aim of recognising Rwandan fashion and creating a showroom for all fashion enthusiasts. This event will kick off on July 16.
Real name Daphine Uwamwezi Mugire, the founder is a TV host at Isibo TV, fashionista and ‘most stylish media personality’ winner who successfully hosted Bianca Fashion Hub’s first edition last year that was ranked among the best fashion shows held in 2021.
This year’s edition, she says, is an amplified edition building from the past success that wasn’t expected, and will bring together regional fanatics of fashion along with celebrities that will entertain the crowd. The previous one brought together best DJs in Rwanda but this time around will have live performances from regional artistes.
Uwamwezi tells Weekender that the intention of Bianca Fashion Hub (BFH) is to bring together different designers as well as promote BFH designs that will be showcased for promotional purposes. They shall also reward the best designed female and male in the show.
The first edition had a big turnout as it attracted many celebrities who walked the red carpet dressed by different local designers.
According to Uwamwezi, the event demonstrated Rwandan youth’s desire for fashion as well as the potential to expand the Rwandan fashion industry, in which Uwamwezi will play a role. She aims to create a state-of-the-art fashion showroom for all kinds of fashion enthusiasts in the future and host more red carpet events.
Asked how she sees the Rwanda fashion industry today, Bianca said that it is still a developing grey area with potential growth for the youth to indulge in and create their own employment. Uwamwezi says it is going to be a huge opportunity for any business to grab the show’s audience through marketing and definitely promote Rwandan youth capabilities in advancing fashion alongside entertainment.
Bianca Fashion Hub is an annual event with elevation in the status drawn from lessons learnt in each show, to bring together fashion enthusiasts and fanatics to celebrate and express themselves through customised fashions by individuals.
