Arlick Tabu Ganza, the son of the late former Amavubi captain Patrick Mafisango, was named the goalkeeper of the tournament after his heroics between the goal posts powered Rwanda U-13 to the PSG Academy World Cup glory in Paris on Monday.

PSG Academy Rwanda's U-13 boys’ team clinched the title at the Parc des Princes after edging Brazil 7-6 in a penalty shootout after both sides had played out a 1-1 draw in regular time.

Ganza kept three clean sheets and only conceded two goals in five matches at the competition. Teammate Patrick Ujeneza was awarded as the best forward of the tournament.

It is expected that the Rwandan delegation will arrive in the country on Wednesday, May 25, after making an emphatic debut in the annual competition, which attracted 38 teams from ten countries around the world.

In the U-11 boys' category, Rwanda took the fourth position after falling to the United States in the third-place playoff.
