The German national women cricket coach Michael Thwelis has released a list of 14 players for the upcoming 2022 Kwibuka cricket women’s tournament in Rwanda.
The European country is among two countries outside Africa who have been invited for the tourney scheduled from June 9 to June 20, with the other being Brazil.
The fourteen players were called to camp on Monday, May 23 as they begin intensive preparations for the competition which is part of activities to commemorate the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
The list includes Indian born German Cardiovascular Scientist Anuradha Doddaballapur who migrated to the European country for her PHD in 2011 and is the skipper of the side.
Germany will battle Nigeria on match day one before facing Brazil, host nation Rwanda, Botswana, Uganda, Tanzania and defending champions Kenya.
