AS Kigali striker Hussein Tchabalala Shaban has urged his teammates to stay focused and prove to everyone they are good enough to retain this year’s Peace Cup title.

The City of Kigali sponsored side will take on APR in the final in June. APR has won the tournament 15 times and are the favourities to triumph in the competition.

"The final is always unpredictable and we anticipate a tough encounter because APR is a very good team, but we are hungry for silverware. This is the only chance to pay back our fans that have been loyal all season,” the Burundian striker said.

AS Kigali eliminated Police 3-2 on aggregate while APR beat rivals Rayon Sports 2-1.

"This season the Peace was more competitive because every team has improved but I think we did enough to prepare for tough opponents,” the forward added.

The competition winner will represent Rwanda in next season’s CAF Confederations Cup tournament.
