Sosthène Habimana, the caretaker coach of the women national football team, has named a 30-player provisional squad to start training ahead of this year's CECAFA Women Championship.
The regional competition gets underway on June 1, in Uganda, and Rwanda's She-Amavubi will be making their first appearance since hosting the 2018 edition.
The squad, which was released on Friday, is dominated by players of local champions AS Kigali women's team but also comprises two youngsters – Eugénie Nyirandayisenga and Marie-Claire Dukuzumuremyi – who played in the second division league last season.
The team is scheduled to enter residential camp on Sunday, May 22, and hold their first training session on Monday.
