Music lovers who were disappointed by the cancellation of Ycee’s show are in for a treat as the town awaits another Trappish mega concert. With the help of Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB), Trappish Ent is organising another big show slated for July 16 at Canal Olympia, Rebero. This is after their previous concert got cancelled, a move that the City of Kigali said was caused by failure to moderate sound in a residential area.
The founder of Trappish music, Ish Kevin, confirmed the development to Weekender on Wednesday morning, noting that he will perform alongside different young musicians making rounds in Rwanda’s music industry.
He said that the decision to organise another event was initiated by RCB which saw losses made by Trappish in the previous cancelled show, and decided to help them organise a better event in a bigger place which can accommodate a large number of revellers.
"It’s confirmed, we are ready to host another big show in town where only young boys and girls in Rwanda’s music industry will perform,” Ish Kevin said, adding, "It will be a day of Trappish and fashion. Different fashion activities will also take place.”
The event will also feature Bianca Fashion Hub. Apart from music performances, different fashion collections will be showcased at the event. Trappish show was last held on October 30, last year, at Canal Olympia, Rebero and thrilled thousands of music lovers who had gathered to experience live performances of different upcoming artistes.
The concert will feature artistes such as Mike Kayihura, Kivumbi King, Logan Joe, Confy, Kenny K Shot, among many others. Trappish music is a movement of only young boys making new waves such as drill, Kinyatrap, afro trap among other genres that are trending in Rwanda. It was founded by Kevin Semana, better known as Ish Kevin in his early days of music when the drill genre was growing in Rwanda.
