Bank of Kigali Group Plc (BK) has gifted cows to the former Bishop of Byumba Catholic Diocese, Servilien Nzakamwita and the newly consecrated Bishop Papias Musengamana as the symbol of the partnership between the Bank and diocese.
Bishop Musengamana was installed as the new bishop of Byumba Diocese on Saturday May 14, replacing bishop emeritus Nzakamwita who served that diocese for 26 years.
David Bizura, the regional business manager for BK highlighted the reasons they offered the cows to the two top clerics;
"This is a sign of the strong partnership we have with the diocese. They have been our client for so long,” he said.
Besides being good clients, he pointed out that the diocese is strong partner for BK, and the entire ministries working within the diocese including schools, and various parish banking with BK.
"We appreciate and value their partnership as well as long-living collaboration and above all, they are also participating in the development of the country of which we also have a hand in,” he added.

Bizura further explains that it is in that line they recognize as well as encourage and motivate them for continued partnership with BK.
He added that the former Bishop has done extra activities in various sectors with Bk and also urges Musengamana to keep a strong corporation with BK.
Commenting on the reason behind gifting them cows of all gifts he said that in Rwandan culture the cow is not just any gift and it cannot be given to anyone they symbolize value, preciousness, and affiliation among others.
Musengimana’s installation was presided over by Cardinal Antoine Kambanda, the Archbishop of Kigali Diocese while the chief guest was Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente.
All speakers commended Nzakamwita for building a strong diocese from nothing in 1996 when he took over, and was specifically recognised for being close to the youth.
