University of Kigali’s Graduate School in partnership with Teamflow GmbH, a German-based institution is offering the SCRUM MASTER CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME, a Project Management Certification free of charge to its graduate students. Classes for the Third Cohort of the training will start on Saturday April 30, 2022.
The training follows an agreement between Mr. Gereon Hermkes, an Agile Business Coach and Trainer and Dr. Kwena Ronald, Dean of UoK’s graduate school during the former’s visit to University of Kigali in February 2022. Mr. Hermkes emphasised that UoK is the only University in Rwanda his outfit is partnering with to offer the globally-sought-after training and added that he made the decision to visit because UoK is the first University in Africa to partner with his outfit since 2021. This partnership makes the participating graduate students part of the flagship Scrum Training and Certification in Rwanda.
Speaking about the partnership, Dr. Kwena Ronald has expressed his excitement about hosting the third cohort of the Scrum Training, as Scrum, a modern Project Management Framework is used daily by more than 10 million people across the globe. He assures that the training will provide endless opportunities for University of Kigali graduate students in their respective careers. This is because the World Economic Forum (WEC) records the Scrum Master Certification among the most promising of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (https://www.scruminc.com/world-economic-forum-forsees-growing-demand-for-scrum-related-jobs/).
He adds that Teamflow GmbH already conducted training for more than 20 students in two cohorts in 2021.The training took place online in two batches and students were able to gain life-changing knowledge and experience on how Scrum methodology enables companies improve productivity and efficiency in their processes.
He identifies some benefits of the Scrum certification as a highly-regarded industry-recognised credential which sets students apart as leaders with proven expertise; the most popular Agile Framework which enables students to stay relevant in today’s job market, spearheads increased productivity and deliverables and improves team management and collaborations to cultivates a healthier work environment.
