RISING RAPPER Bizzow Bane, real name Benjamin Ndahiriwe, recently released his first EP, Kigaloise.
The young artiste says he started making music a long time ago while still in high school. For him, the first time he composed his first song was when music chose him.
"Music is an expressional language with the power to touch people's hearts.
I started making music in my first year of high school. Since it was a catholic school, there was a lot of music going around,” shared Bizzow.
As an artiste, Bizzow says his style depends on his inspiration in the moment, which is why he can do both rap and singing.
"My uniqueness is the poetry behind every lyric I write, how they all rhyme, using many languages to spice it up," said Ndahiriwe.
The singer speaks multiple languages, namely French, English, Kinyarwanda, Latin, Lingala, and others, which he uses while writing lyrics and singing.
He believes that his first EP, Kigaloise, will be a great hit.
"Kigaloise is a French word I created derived from Kigali. It is about a lady from Kigali, "said Ndahiriwe.
"I wanted to write something exciting about a Kigali girl, which inspired the whole EP," he added.
Kigaloise is composed of songs: ‘Mon Bebe Ketia,’ ‘Daisies,’ ‘6:09 GMT’, ‘Zoom’, ‘Bandit (Ligaki)’ ft Danny Beats, and ‘Kigaloise’, which features a Rwandan artiste based in Belgium called Jean-Pierre Ntwali Mucumbitsi, popularly known as Jali. The Extended Play was released on April 22.
Ndahiriwe said that he made sure to use more Kinyarwanda, Kigali customs, and lifestyles in a modern way. He worked hard to make sure certain people would enjoy it.
Asked about his plans, the artiste said he wants to be big and make people recognise Rwandan music.
"I want to go big, touch many hearts, and be an inspiration to the next generation. It's all a matter of time because I am headed to success," he said.
The first day he composed and was able to compose a melody, he says he fell in love with the process, the melody, and the feedback he got, which kept him going!
"I want to make noise, more music, and be the first Bizzow Bane. I will always be real and independent in my art to achieve this," the singer said. "I always find perfection in my imperfections through music," he added.
He said that you can't grow as an artiste unless you face challenges, because that is what makes legends.
"I look up to people with full confidence in them, like Paul Kagame, Stromae, and Kanye West. But I also look at myself as I am trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday," he said.
You can stream his ‘Kigaloise’ EP on different platforms, including YouTube, BoomPlay, Spotify, etc.
Bizzow is also the owner of a fashion brand called Ligaki, derived from Kigali. The brand produces sportswear, hoodies, T-shirts, caps, and others.
