South Africa's Uncle Waffles will perform in Kigali on May 8

The second edition of Intore Sunday’s event which was expected to host renowned South African female disc jockey, Uncle Waffles, will not take place this Sunday, organisers said.

Through a statement released by Intore Ent, event management company behind the annual show, the event was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances and was rescheduled to next week, May 8.

"We are sad to announce that the date for Intore Sundays has been postponed to May 8th, 2022 due to unforeseen circumstances and factors beyond control. We apologize for any inconveniences and we will be making further communication in the days to come,” reads a statement by organizers.

The New Times learnt that among the reasons behind the rescheduling of the event is the holy month of Ramadan which would restrict Muslims in Kigali to experience the show.

Talking to this publication, Bruce Intore, founder of Intore Sundays noted that this event is for everyone and pushing it back to May 8, is a way of allowing many to attend it without forgetting the Rwandan Muslim community which is in Ramadhan.

"Intore Sundays’s aim is to bring good vibes to every Kigalian without limitation. We are looking forward to having a massive turn up with everyone including our Muslim brothers and sisters on May 8,” Intore said.

"It’s still going down,” he added.

The first edition of Intore Sundays with DJ Fully Focus thrilled thousands of music lovers and the second with Uncle Waffles is hyped by many over how the female disc jockey is trending worldwide.

The event will take place at Sunday Park, Kigali.
