A RwandAir plane on Wednesday overshot the runway at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, but all passengers who were on board are safe, the airline said in a statement

According to the statement the airline issued on Wednesday, the flight, WB464 upon landing at Entebbe International Airport early this morning, veered off the runway during adverse weather.

The aircraft is currently being recovered so Entebbe’s runway can return to use, RwandAir said in a statement, adding that all customers and crew were evacuated safely with no injuries reported.

"Our Flight Crews are highly trained for all eventualities, including flying in adverse weather conditions,” the statement reads.

Meanwhile, the airline said it was working closely with the local authorities, including the Ugandan Civil Aviation Authority, who will investigate the circumstances around the incident.

"The safety of our customers and crew is always our highest priority,” it said.
