MISS RWANDA organisers, Rwanda Inspiration Backup, on April 19 put out a statement that Meghan Nimwiza who was crowned Miss Rwanda 2019 is no longer with the organisation. The organisation announced that Nimwiza quit her position as the company’s Communications Director. Nimwiza has been serving her duties as the pageant’s Communications Director for the past two years before she informed the company that she is to assume new duties elsewhere.
"We would like to inform the public that Miss Meghan Nimwiza has parted ways with Miss Rwanda organisation. We are very appreciative for all the hard work that she has done for us as the director of communications,” a statement issued on Miss Rwanda organisation’s social media platforms reads. They also appreciated the great work she has done during her time with them.
There were reports that Nimwiza and her employers were not seeing eye-to-eye recently, but Dieudonne Ishimwe, CEO of Rwanda Inspiration Backup, said that the beauty queen informed them that she was quitting after she got a new offer from another company. Ishimwe said the beauty queen dedicated her passion and knowledge in building successful communications at Miss Rwanda, especially during her time at the company.
"She (Nimwiza) is still part of the Miss Rwanda family but not as the pageant’s communications personnel as we are already looking for her replacement because she is going to work elsewhere,” Ishimwe told The New Times. Despite her departure, he said, she remains part of Miss Rwanda family, like every beauty queen.
Before quitting the position, Nimwiza was one of three former Miss Rwanda winners working as full-time employees for Rwanda Inspiration Backup, alongside Miss Rwanda 2017 Elsa Iradukunda and Miss Rwanda 2018 Liliane Iradukunda.
