Algeria got off to a strong start to 2024 African Nations Volleyball Championship by defeating Rwanda in three straight sets on Saturday, August 24

Rwanda youth national volleyball team (U-18) could not get past Algeria in the ongoing 2024 African Nations Volleyball Championship taking place in Sfax, Tunisia, with the North Africans proving too strong to beat.

Algeria got off to a strong start to the campaign by defeating Rwanda in three straight sets on Saturday, August 24. claimed the first set 25-19 and the second 25-9 in a dominant display. They took the third and final set 25-15, to ease past the East African nation.

Rwanda failed to register a single set before an Algeria side which looked both strong defensively and so aggressive in attack, making it hard for Rwanda to cope with their opponent.

According to the Technical Meeting held on Friday, it was decided that all the teams will play among themselves (round robin system).

The countries confirmed for the tournament so far are hosts Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and Rwanda.
