Governor advises residents to avoid laziness

GICUMBI — The Governor of Northern Province, Aime Bosenibamwe, has cautioned residents of Kaniga Sector against laziness, saying they should engage in income generating activities to fight poverty.

"An idle mind creates poverty to society, which is why you should desist from all forms of unproductive behaviour such as drinking alcohol during the  day,” Bosenibamwe said on Tuesday, while inspecting different developmental projects in the sector.

He advised residents to heed local leaders’ advice on good governance and practice modern livestock and agricultural farming in order to guarantee food security.

The governor was accompanied by Mayor Bonane Nyangezi, the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) 408 Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Eric Murokore and other area local leaders, with who he later inspected various economic activities in the Sector.

The projects inspected included a cooking oil factory, Impuyage Agricultural and Livestock Cooperative Society, clean water projects at Rugenda village in Mulindi cell and Youth pig rearing Cooperative Society.  

Nyangezi, promised Kaniga residents full support in their economic ventures.

"We are all here to support your economic activities in order to steer economic development of the entire district,” he said.
