Rayon Sports vs Amagaju (Kigali Pele Stadium)

Kickoff: 3PM

Rayon Sports will be hoping to get things right when they host Amagaju FC at the Kigali Pele Stadium on Friday, August 23 at 3:00 pm.

The Blues had a poor start to the 2024/25 Rwanda Premier League campaign drawing goalless at home to Marines FC while Amagaju also earned a point at Bugesera Stadium in the opening league encounter.

The pair will meet for the 11th time since 2016. Rayon have the upper hand, having recorded with 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in the process. Their only defeat to Amagaju FC came on June 5, 2018 when the Southern Province-based club came to Kigali and won 2-1.

During the 2023/24 season, Rayon struggled at home against Amagaju. It took a 94th minute goal from Prince Rudasingwa to earn them a point before improving in the second round win 1-0 at Huye Stadium

Amagaju may look a bit depleted, having sold their talisman Abdul Rahman Rukundo who joined Rayon Sports after a stellar debut season during which he netted 13 league goals.

The Blues firmly starts as favorite but their only bane to victory will be complacency which they need to eschew.

In an early kickoff at 12:30 pm, Gasogi United, fresh from shock 1-0 away victory over Mukura Victory Sports, will welcome Marines FC to the Kigali Pele Stadium.

It will be a great game which could go either way. The team which converts their chances will win the encounter.
