After putting up a big show in Nairobi, Kenya, celebrated Rwandan gospel musician Israel Mbonyi is already in Kampala where he received a warm welcome from the media and promoters of his two highly anticipated concerts in Uganda this coming weekend.
The 32-year-old Rwandan star, his management team and band arrived in Kampala on Wednesday, August 21, where he will headline a live concert at Millenial Grounds (Former KCCA Grounds) on August 23, before taking his stage to Mbarara University Inn grounds on August 25.

His musical trip to Uganda comes days after another tour in Kenya where he also staged a concert that attracted thousands of revelers including top government officials and celebrities.
Mbonyi’s decision to sing in other languages including English and Swahili has expanded his ministry’s reach.
He recently staged concerts in several countries including Belgium in western Europe where the demand for tickets surpassed expectations, forcing organisers to move the event from Birmingham Palace to a bigger venue, Dome Eventhall.

"I wanted to expand my territory and enlarge the ministry to reach more people out of Rwanda. I can’t keep things local,” Mbonyi told Ugandan media adding, "I will keep singing in my mother tongue but want more people to get the message in my songs.”
Mbonyi is arguably one of the best Rwandan artistes of his generation. His work has been recognised in the gospel music industry, following his nominations in the African Entertainment Awards USA and prizes from the Groove Awards Rwanda.
In the recent past, his music received nominations from African Entertainment Awards USA and recognition from the Groove Awards Rwanda and Isango Na Muzika Awards.
