Renowned traditional singer Jean-Marie Vianney Muyango known as Muyango is expected to perform at a concert dubbed "Muyango n'Imitari mu Nganzi Iganje” next week.
The concert which is being organised by Urugwiro Consult Ltd will take place on March 25, at the Crown Conference Hall, Nyarutarama.
Speaking to The New Times, Didier Kananura, the coordinator of this event said they chose to work with Muyango because he is unmatched in many ways.
"He is one of the most iconic Rwandan traditional songwriters and interpreters who has contributed to the Rwandan narrative towards culture identity, unity, and reconciliation,” he said.
In addition, he said that Muyango recorded several masterpieces that are forever embedded in Rwandan culture constantly and beautifully portraying the same values of heroism, patriotism, and civic duties.
"We want to instill those values in the younger generation as well” he added
He further explained that this is going to be Muyango’s first concert after a very long time in Rwanda.
"This concert comes at a time when lovers ofRwanda traditional music often referred to as 'Gakondo' are craving for cultural events that portray our values and traditional artistry,” he said
Due to the limited available seats fans are advised to secure their tickets ahead of time.
