Girl duo Charly na Nina will this Wednesday perform in the Ugandan capital Kampala at the famous Comedy Store Uganda – a weekly show which brings together comedians and artistes on the same stage.
The group, which is composed of Nina Fatuma Muhoza and Charlotte Rulinda, recently announced their return after a long break and speculation around their future and it seems things are quickly falling in place.
The "Lavender" singers will perform at the show, which is organised by Ugandan comedian Alex Muhangi and attracts the best artistes to perform live alongside the comedians.
Charly na Nina will perform alongside Ugandan dancehall singer John Blaq and also reunite with Geosteady, with whom they recorded one of their first ever hits ‘Owooma’.
On the comedy side, the stage will belong to veteran Ugandan comedian Amooti, one of the pioneers of the comedy industry in the region, alongside the host, Muhangi.
In a promo video, Charly and Nina, who are popular in Uganda, called on their fans to come through and party at the show which is dubbed #BorderIsOpen. Charly na Nina last performed in Uganda in 2018.
The girls have promised to use their time in Uganda to work on fresh music projects and collaborations to mark their return to the music industry. They recently released their latest song "Lavender", which is already doing well on airwaves.
They have promised to release more music in the coming days, including a full EP. They announced their return with a performance on February 6 this year at the Amani Music Festival in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
