DRIP CITY ENT, a new event management company in Rwanda, is going to collaborate with a Nigerian music distribution firm titled Azuri in helping Rwandan local artistes attain a bigger audience.

The two entertainment companies signed the deal last week Thursday, March 10, after only two months since Drip City Ent opened its gates in Rwanda.

The deal which targets young upcoming artistes will also help them in different ways including generating a large fan base, getting collabos from renowned artistes, distributing their projects in different countries, as well as giving them a platform that will help them get gigs around the world.

Talking to The New Times, Yvan Mudenge, communication officer at Drip City Ent, said that this deal is in line with Drip City’s target of helping Rwandan artistes not only in headlining concerts, but also creating a platform that will help them generate fans from different sides of the world.

"After noticing how Rwandan music is growing, we came up with a plan of getting a distribution line in Nigeria which can uplift Rwandan artistes and help them attain a larger audience than before.”

"We are going to be representing Azuri in Rwanda and any artiste who wants to join us is welcome,” he added.

The first beneficiary of the deal is a fast-rising artiste, Confy, who signed a contract with the distribution company on March 11.

Mudenge also clarified that they are in talks with other many upcoming artistes including Ariel ways and Ish Kevin, who is going to feature AV of Nigeria with the help of AZURI and Drip city Ent.

Confy, the brains behind hits like 'Panga' and 'Joana', welcomed the development noting that it will contribute a lot in uplifting Rwandan music which still lacks international recognition.

He urged other Rwandan artistes who want to take their careers on another level to also be part of this development and get music distribution lines.

"This is how the industry grows. We are making music for the world not Rwanda, and this will push our music to greater heights,” Confy said.

Drip City Ent is a new Rwandan entertainment company which started operating in February this year, after organising its maiden show that thrilled thousands, and is also is expected to bring many other artistes including Jaywillz who will headline a show this Friday, in Kigali.
