DUC Vs REG (11pm) Kigali-Time

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) basketball club will face Dakar University Club (DUC) in their third game of the ongoing Basketball Africa League (BAL) tonight at 11pm Kigali Time.

The game takes place at the Dakar Arena in Dakar Senegal, where DUC will have the advantage of playing in front of home fans.

REG have won their two opening games in the tournament, while DUC have lost both.

"We are on the road. We know there will be fans cheering on their home team and supporting them," REG Head Coach Robert Pack said.

"We have to go in there, keep pushing and work on the things that we’ve worked on; stick to our principles and have a chance in the fourth quarter,” he added.

Asked about the team’s morale after registering two wins in as many games, Pack said:

"The guys are feeling good. We also feel like we haven’t played our best basketball. We’ve always felt that as the tournament goes on, and we have more time together, we can become a better team."

If REG beat DUC, they are most likely to advance to the playoffs. If DUC lose to REG they will be in a very difficult position to advance to the playoffs in May in Kigali.

Cleveland Thomas Jr. Anthony Walker, Dieudonné Ndizeye, Adonis Filer and Jean Jacques Nshobozwabyosenumukiza have been crucial for the Rwandan champions, but Pack says his team relies on team work.

The teams that finish in the top four places of the Sahara Conference move on to the post-season while the two teams that finish last in the Sahara Conference will see their BAL season come to an end.
