FEATURED: NCBA bank Rwanda opens new branches

NCBA Bank Rwanda this past weekend launched new branches at the busy Nyabugogo suburb in Nyarugenge district and Kayonza town in Kayonza District. 

This is in line with the lender’s continuous strategy to expand and get closer to its clientele.

The branches are expected to play an important part in provision of world-class financial solutions to the community, according to officials at the bank.

Nyabugogo branch started operations on January, 27 and officially unveiled on February 3 while the one of Kayonza started on January 28 and was inaugurated officially on February 4.

Lina Higiro, the CEO of NCBA Bank Rwanda said that they are happy to be part of Nyabugogo and Kayonza as well as bring their services nearer to the people in these areas.

"We are pleased to be a part of the Nyabugogo and Kayonza community,” she said adding that "As part of the NCBA strategy of scaling up our retail network, we believe in bringing our services closer to our customers,”

Diane Mukunde, head of retail banking in NCBA said that as the bank grows in Rwanda, they have various exclusivity citing Mokash and other two new types of loans they have which are ‘mortgage 105% finance’ and ‘asset finance’.

"Mortgage 105% finance help those who want to build or buy the house with no down payment,” she explained, adding that "asset finance helps the clients who need to buy business cars or machines to facilitate their business development.”

Mukunde commended all the NCBA clients and assured them of world class client services saying that the bank will continue working closely with them on a daily basis and encourage the community to join their bank as their slogan states ‘Go for it’.

A client at NCBA Bank Rwanda, Ismael Ngendahimana, shared his gratitude for the services he gets and encouraged others to join it, saying that what sets them apart from others is their zeal to accompany you to your journey to prosperity.

Emmy Ngabonziza, District Executive Administrator at Nyarugenge welcomed new branch in Nyabugogo, and urged the lender to continue providing better service to their customers and considering their requests, and promised collaboration in order to know what the citizen’s needs are.

Commenting on the expectations, he said that they hope that this bank will help the public to embrace a saving culture both long term and short term savings and strengthen a cashless economy among other developments.

Emmanuel Gasana, Eastern Province governor who graced the opening of the Kayonza branch also hailed the bank for its continuous expansion, saying that it is an answer to the business community not just in Kayonza but the whole province.

"Thank you for listening to Eastern Province and getting your services closer to us, I hope that you continue listening to our private sector and giving them the products that work best for this region,” he said.

NCBA Bank Rwanda had a customer base of 2.8 million in December last year the major number is driven by its digital platform MoKash which it implements in partnership with MTN Rwanda.

With headquarters in Kenya, NCBA Bank is the third largest bank in the region with a presence in at least five African countries; Uganda, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, and Kenya.
