EL SHADAI MBARUSHIMANA mostly known by stage name El foxy Miles, is one the rising and promising hip hop artistes in the country today.

The rising star started doing music professionally in August 2019. He says growing up, he had many talents like playing football, basketball, acting and a dancing but he later on got encouraged by his friends because they believed he had a singing talent.

"I was very talented as a football player and believed that it will be my career in the future because I liked it more than anything else but then music changed what I thought would be my future. Music inspired and moved me more than other talents I had because it gave me a platform to express myself and be able to give a message that can help many people through my music,’’ he said.

Miles revealed that he saw a possibility of financial support in music compared to other talents he had to improve his living standards and that also pushed him as a young man who wants a better future.

"I like music because it makes people feel free and set themselves free. Through my music I get to comfort and give hope to people as well as help them be stress free and that has been a highlight in my life as an artiste,” he adds.

Miles has seven songs but only two are already out. This month,  he plans to release his third song, featuring rapper Racine and Madaggy.

Challenges

"The biggest challenge joining the music industry has been making people believe I am as talented as other artistes who went to music school. It has been hard to gain trust from people who haven’t even seen you perform anywhere but as committed as I am I will keep pushing because my talent will shine by itself.”

Where do you see yourself in the future?

"I see myself in the future as a big icon in the music industry and doing  something that would contribute to my country, especially the youth. I believe I will have built a brand for myself to open different opportunities as an artiste which would also help to improve my life.”

Miles who most of the times directs his songs does different genres but mostly trap, Afrobeat, dancehall and drill among others.
