SKOL Brewery Ltd has given out 59 scholarships to children of the firm’s employees pursuing high school studies in different schools.
This is part of the recently launched annual scholarship programme for SKOL employees’ children pursuing secondary education – including Technical and Vocational Education and Training – and undergraduate studies.
The scholarship programme was launched under the Patronage of Maïté Relecom, the co-owner of Unibra Group, a Belgian family-owned company which SKOL Brewery Ltd is part of.
It was introduced to harness and nourish the capabilities that lie within the Rwandan youth, particularly children of the brewer’s employees and contribute to their education and skills development.
Different parents whose children benefitted said they were "very happy” with this programme that is supporting them to support their children’s education not only for school fees but also scholastic materials like uniforms, books, and transport.
Many said they will invest the money they were supposed to pay for these expenses in other activities to develop their families.
The call for applications of undergraduate scholarships has been launched and applicants fulfilling the requirements will start benefiting from this opportunity during the current school calendar.
